Biography:

Evan Meade is an East Tennessee native with roots in Sullivan, Washington, and Carter Counties, as well as Avery County North Carolina and Southwest Virginia. He has been practicing law for more than 32 years, having begun practicing law in 1977 with Legal Services helping those who could not afford a lawyer. In 1979, he founded Evan Meade & Associates in Johnson City, TN and began practicing injury law throughout the Tri-Cities, the State of Tennessee, and the country.

Evan graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1968.  He then attended The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  He obtained his law degree from Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) in 1977. 

Evan is a member of several organizations, dedicated to excellence in representing wrongfully injured persons, including Tennessee Association for Justice (Formerly Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association), where has served on the Board continuously since 1990 and as an officer. He also belongs to American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America).  He is also a member of the Million-Dollar Advocates Forum whose membership is limited to those lawyers who have achieved a million dollar verdict or settlement.  

Evan has presented numerous lectures for the Tennessee Association for Justice and other bar associations on various topics such as Workers Compensation, Trial tips, ERISA subrogation issues, Tenncare subrogation reduction techniques and Medicare subrogation topics. He also has the distinction of holding the record paid State Court jury verdict in both Washington County Tennessee and Carter County Tennessee.
